Smoke-fired candleholder
The candleholders are wheel thrown, smoke-fired and each one of them is unique.
Place them one by one, put several together in a group or combine them with other kinds of candleholders. The minimalistic design makes them easy to place into different settings.
In the process of smoke-firing, I use a metal barrel, sawdust and firewood. The candleholders, which are bisque fired once, are stacked into the barrel together with sawdust and then a fire is lit on top. The fire and smoke are affecting the colors of the clay, creating an unpredictable pattern making every object unique.

The smoke-fired pieces are neither waterproof or dishwasher safe. The technique makes the clay stay more porous than my other ceramic pieces.
